Solution to Last Month’s Problem: A Heat Pump That’s Not Blowing Cool Air

The next step to take in this situation is to manually re-set the High-Pressure Control. When we do, we’ll be able to observe what could be the cause of it being open. There are three reasonable possibilities to consider:

1. A failed outdoor fan motor
2. A dirty outdoor coil, or
3. A refrigerant overcharge that could have caused the excessive high side pressure that resulted in the protective control opening and breaking the circuit to the contactor coil.
